Ann Dassing

Founder and President

As a Town Council person, in 2006 she served as Finance Chairman and was elected Council President in 2009.  In 2010, she was elected as Caldwell’s Mayor, a position she has held since January, 2011. In 2011, with the help of fellow councilmen, the Borough of Caldwell adopted a 0% increase for the town’s budget with no reduction in services and/or furloughs. Caldwell’s Mayor takes pride in the creation of an Historic Commission under her administration, to preserve Caldwell’s history. She continues to work hard to reign in costs and to create new revenue opportunities.  She is a proponent of shared services and initiated monthly meetings between area towns and The Board of Education to gain efficiencies to bring down rising costs.

Along with her business and Mayoral duties, Ann is currently serving as Executive Director of The Bloomfield Educational Foundation (BEF) , and takes pleasure in having the opportunity to work with many caring community-minded individuals and to give back to the children of Bloomfield.  She proudly reports that as of 2013, the BEF has given back over $750,000 to support college scholarships, teacher grants, after school academic and athletic programs and technology initiatives.  Being able to effect a positive change for a place she called home for so many years gives Ann immense gratification.

Ann and her husband Gene, recently celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary and they are the proud parents of Gene III, an architect and Katherine Ann, who recently graduated with a Marketing degree and is a sales representative for Chloe and Isabel Jewelry.  Katherine also free-lances for Front-Page Promotions, Inc. and  provides the company with web page design, publications, logo design and events management.
